2019 November Presbytery Meeting

The next Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Blackhawk will be on November 12, 2019 at 2nd Congregational/1st Presbyterian Church, Rockford, IL (map). Registration begins at 9:00 am, New Commissioner training at 9:15, and the assembly at 9:30 am.

Presbytery leadership and articulating a vision for the Presbytery's future will be among the topics to be discussed in small group conversations. In planning for the transition following the retirement of General Presbyter John Rickard next April, the Council and its appointed Transition Team are seeking input from the Assembly body regarding the skills and qualities they’d like to see in our future Executive Presbyter.  Look for a list of skills and qualities to choose from in the presbytery packet (below).

Small group discussions have proven popular for both ministers and elders as they consider not only the changes affecting the Presbytery, but their congregations as well. Groupings are loosely based on size and situation in the hope that relationships may begin to develop. If you have not sent a church representative to attend a Presbytery meeting in a while, please take advantage of this opportunity.

Documents will be posted as they are made available (they will be underlined).
